Train Excursion
Soča Valley & Goriška Brda

Hotel indulgence continues on the railway tracks. Enjoy a comfortable day trip to the beautiful Soča Valley and the dreamy Goriška Brda.

Hotel Triglav Bled is located just 100 meters from the Bled Jezero train station, from where you can take a daily ride through the Julian Alps via the Bohinj railway line. On the other side, you can explore the beauties of the Triglav National Park, the Soča Valley, and even further south, the beautiful wine region of Goriška Brda. We have prepared two options for full-day guided tours with a rich program and activities.

Soča Valley – Active

A full-day trip to untouched nature with local stories and the history of World War I. Enjoying some of the most spectacular views in the unique alpine world.

With the morning train, you will travel from Bled to Most na Soči, where a guide will welcome you and together you will continue your journey. The start of the Soča tour will lead to the alpine town of Bovec with a stop under the Boka waterfall. We will continue the journey to the Trenta Valley and the Triglav National Park, where you will find the Great and Small Soča Gorges, the Lepena Valley – a paradise for fly fishing, the Šunik waterfalls, and numerous hanging bridges crossing the emerald Soča river.

On the way back, we will drive to the village of Čezsoča with a stop on a bridge overlooking the Julian Alps. The next stop will be the historic town of Kobarid, where we will visit the beautiful Kozjak waterfall and the Italian ossuary above the Kobarid valley. If there is enough time available, we recommend a visit to the Museum of the First World War or the Cheese Museum.

During the journey, there will be time for a stop for lunch, ice cream, coffee, or a glass of wine. The final program/sightseeing will be adapted to weather conditions, available time, and of course, to you as a guest. We will make every effort to make your day as enjoyable as possible.

Upon your request, you will have the opportunity to experience a water activity in the valley (rafting or kayaking).

The stunning panoramic view is sure to enchant you.

Next comes your first gourmet activity, a visit to an olive grove with olive oil tasting. A specialty in the wine region, which can also boast numerous international awards and accolades. After tasting, you can relax on sun loungers among the olives.

With a suitable foundation, you will be ready for the next visit. Namely, you will visit one of the many winemakers in the region for a wine tasting. You will taste renowned autochthonous and international varieties together with local snacks. The duration of the cellar visit mainly depends on your interest. But you should know that in Brda, you should not be in a hurry, so take your time and enjoy every sip and bite.

After the wine tasting, a late lunch awaits you in one of the excellent restaurants with excellent local cuisine, followed by transportation back to Bled with the afternoon/evening train.
