It’s no secret that our restaurant attracts guests who want to celebrate the most important moments in life. Every day, we welcome couples and groups celebrating anniversaries, engagements, birthdays, or simply looking to indulge at the end of a memorable stay at our hotel. One request that comes up with almost every reservation is: “Please, can we have a table by the window!”
On these special occasions, we are always faced with the same challenge – how to satisfy the desires of all our guests? How do we decide which occasion deserves the most attention? Is a 40th wedding anniversary more important than an engagement dinner that symbolizes the start of a new chapter in life? Is a birthday more significant than the final dinner of a week-long stay with us? Each special occasion carries with it countless emotions and meanings, making it impossible to judge which is “most important.”
A Fair Opportunity for All Guests
To ensure the most fair experience, we decided years ago not to take reservations for specific tables. Our goal is to give each guest the chance to enjoy our cuisine, regardless of where they sit. Upon arrival at the restaurant, we offer guests a choice from the available tables, and naturally, those who arrive earlier have more options, including the sought-after window views. In this case, the old saying, “The early bird catches the worm,” holds true – or in our version, “The early bird enjoys the better view.”
But no matter where you sit, our team is committed to delivering a top-notch experience. The food is equally exquisite, and the service just as attentive, whether you’re seated by the window or in the center of the room. Our goal is to create an atmosphere where each dish meets and exceeds expectations, allowing you to forget everyday worries and simply enjoy the moment. After all, special occasions deserve to be celebrated in an environment where your senses are the focus – and at our restaurant, that happens with every bite.
For those who want to ensure the best table for themselves and their loved ones, we recommend arriving early – we begin dinner service at 18:00, when table selection is at its most diverse. But rest assured, no matter where you sit, your experience will be unforgettable, as every dinner with us is truly a celebration of flavors and senses.

The menu here is presented as an 8-course tasting meal, but with options to have 4,5,6 or 7 courses priced accordingly.
The brilliant (and in my experience unique) innovation is that you can select any of the 8 things on the menu to make up your 4,5,6 or 7 courses. And everyone at the table can make a different selection. There were 2 cold starters, 3 warm starters, 2 mains and a dessert.
The starter portions were quite small, though beautifully prepared. Small portions are not typical in Slovenia, so be prepared for that. Main courses were a typical west European size. If I were to be picky, I’d say that the two main courses were both red meat, which seemed a bit limiting. Everything we ordered was excellent.
But there’s more. We asked for the wine list and saw a very comprehensive range of Slovenian wine, but only bottles. When we asked if there was anything we could have by the glass, our waiter said “all of them!” They will actually open almost any wine from the list and give you a glass. We had two great wines, a sparkling chardonnay and a lovely pinot noir.
All of this was delivered with speed, wisdom and courtesy. I thought it was fantastic.”
